New music video for Rave On, directed by DJ/filmmaker Atsushi Numata ...on the A/V page

Last week T and M performed with Peelander -Z, Electric Eel Shock, and Dynamite Club at legendary CBGB's. It was nice to play there before they close their doors. Word is the club is moving to Vegas. So sad, but so happy for Vegas. Peelander-Z is a real life animated action comic punk band. Seriously....everything from human bowling to steak. I just wanted to pack the Peelanders up into a suitcase and take them home with me. Electric Eel Shock was rad. A garage rock, grunge band from Japan with a flawless cover of Ozzy's Iron Man. Loved it. Dynamite Club freaked me out... All the bands were so kind. Thank heavens for little Asians.
T and M just finished a video with director Atsushi Numata for the song Rave On. The mastering for the Tigers and Monkeys debut CD, Loose Mouth was completed today. We are going to get it ou ASAP!!!!!!!!!! SERIOUSLY!
Happy Summer. xo Shonali

Hey friends, Last weekend Tigers and Monkey opened for Ted Leo and the Pharmacists at the Seaport Music Festival. This is the third year in a row that Ted's gang have closed the festival at the South Street Seaport in downtown NYC. We had an amazing time. The weather was beautiful. The skyscrapers were watching down
on us and the East River was laughing with us. There were thousands of music lovers surrounding us and T and M brought it on. I am not sure exactly what
we brought on, but we brought something on and whatever it was, it was good.
I have to thank Ted and the Seaport Festival for having us. The response from that show has been overwhelming and we thank all of you that have contacted
us since seeing that show.
Since that show, Sunday, August 28, 2005
came and so did Hurricane Katrina. It is at the forefront of all of our minds. The city of New Orleans is one in which I have spent a lot of time. It is an amazing historic city with a vibrant diverse culture. Seeing people in our own country become refugees, numbering into the tens of thousands has been one of the most horrific scenes this country has ever witnessed. The Gulf coast is in shambles and hundreds of thousands
of people are without homes. We watched the city of New Orleans collapse in front of us over the past week and it continues to erode, not to mention the destruction of the cities on the coast of Mississippi and Alabama. I can not stop thinking about the victims of this storm. There are those that have lost their lives in this storm; those that are still waiting for help (it has been
6 days now); and those that are having to start their lives over in any city
that will have them. I was feeling helpless this morning, wondering what I could
do beyond donating to the Red Cross. I am still at a loss. I can not be anything but angry at our current administration. There were lives that could have
been saved. They waited for five days to take any action and that only happened after the Mayor of New Orleans, Ray Nagin voiced complete disgust with the
way our federal government had been handling his requests for help. I know you know...but I have to say something about this. Please write your legislators today. There is a need to maintain a long time relief effort for the destruction that was caused by Katrina. We have to voice how reprehensible
the actions (inaction) of our current administration have been and how rebuilding the great city of New Orleans and taking care of its refugees is mandatory.
Please go to the following websites if you want to help: redcross.org, hurricanehousing.org, and NAACP.org. Thanks for reading! Take care! Loving all of you,
Shonali

for Sleater Kinney and Love as Laughter. In other news, Joachim is currently
playing guitar with White Hassle and Jeff is joining Longwave on the road
and around town on keys and guitar. See y'all at the Knitting Factory.

hello guys! we just finished recording our album and are now in the process
of mixing it. our engineer is kenny "the sound man" from the bowery ballroom,
we love him!! [he has a fishing show on nyc cable access ( i can't get it
in brooklyn though, dang it!). he is the funniest man in the world] we recorded
the album at "think tank" studios in hoboken.(hoboken has some cute boys,
but should really invest in some "walk/don't walk" lights). i recorded some
hand percussion in a little cozy den like space, with a couch and a coffee
table,it reminded me of dancing to janet jackson in my living room for my
family when i was 7....anyway, i can't wait to go back on the road, we are
planning to do that in the near, near future....we now have a page on that
hook up site they call myspace, friend us if you are lonely...hmmm the weather
is wild, i mean mild today in new york city, i think i will go take a walk
to the store now. more news to come soon. happy superbowl sunday, i wonder
what will be exposed this year, i think johnny depp should do some of that.

Hi. the year has flown bye bye. it is august in new york city. overcast, drizzle,
muggy and beautiful. tigers and monkeys are everywhere. a white tiger escaped
from the circus nearby and a monkey bit a kid at the grocery store last week.
we recently returned from a mini tour with Ted Leo and the Pharmacists. Happy
to report no injuries, the return of Jeff Sheinkopf (off of his tour with
Sea Ray) and the debut of our wonderful Antonia to the tigers and monkeys
lineup. She shimmies, shakes and don't even ask for her pink mary janes! The
dates with Teddy and posse were great. thank you to Ted Leo and bandmates.
beyond being a great band, they were kind, supportive and ready to hang. all
most appreciated by t & m. as for the shows, tigers and monkeys fell in love
with every crowd and soon there will be baby tigers and monkeys across the
northeast. we sold out of merch at every show. yes, that is important to starving
artists like ourselves. oh, and i got to use a Gibson Explorer for many of
the shows, that is until it was too heavy for me to play. We returned here
for a show with Sea Ray, The Natural History, and Ted Leo on July 24th for
the East River Park Music Project. we met many new tigers and monkeys at the
show. Highlights from that show can be seen at www.petitemort.org. The show
was A'rawkin....all the bands were awesome. The last NYC area show was in
Park Slope, Brooklyn at Southpaw on July 29th with The Natural History and
Heartless Bastards. on stage, there is a real curtain that opens up right
before you play and suddenly you become a true jukebox hero. The heros included
jason lam, joachim kearns, antonia santangelo, russell dungan, jeff sheinkopf,
amy miles and shonali bhowmik - - all of THE tigers and monkeys were on stage.
this week we went to DC to play the Warehouse Theater, an all ages venue,
that is like playing at your middle aged uncle's, who was recently divorced,
living room. We loved it. We played with the Black Hole of Calcutta. The magic
of tigers and monkeys returns to NYC on Friday, August 20th at Rothko with
the Apes, Backup Plan and Crossbow. We hope to see you there. We are planning
on recording our first full length CD this fall and have no problem accepting
charitable donations. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. You are
loved by tigers and monkeys, Shonali

The band is pleased to announce summer shows!!

The band had a little too much fun on the mini tour down South. Shonali rocked
all those Dirty Southern boys real good. Jason killed everyone at Karaoke
with his really hot rendition of "Enter Sandman" (must be experienced), Russ
kicked the drums in Athens and Atl (he even played some Justice of The Unicorns
songs), Joachim hit the drums and gtr in Gainesville (he also drove 10 hours
on the way home)- The band also had a great time with the Comedians! Eugene
even joined Shonali on WRAS...too bad he swore on air..haha bad boy! hashbrowns.scattered.all
the way.

We have new pics from the Bowery Ballroom Show, two
audio tracks up and t-shirts now!
Check them out.

The Bowery Ballroom show was great. Urge Overkill harmonies were as they were
in 1988 when I saw them open up for Dinosaur Jr. The sound guy at the Bowery,
Kenny has a fishing show. We will record with him in the upcoming month.
1/27/04
We're planning a mini-tour of the southeast in March.
Stay tuned for details.
1/2/04
Along with the new site is an announcement of the next two shows, both this
month in New York. Check the tour page for more info.
